While we count down to the 25th anniversary celebration of ¡Salud!, get to know the members of our esteemed Vintners Circle a little bit better as they answer a handful of our hard-hitting questions. Next up, St. Innocent Winery Winemaker, Mark Vlossak.

  1. How do you unwind after a long day?  HA, unwind, please define.  I do not think this applies to me.
  2. What is your favorite season?  That is obvious.  Harvest.  The one opportunity to create an entire set of wines that reflect that specific year.  The trees turn beautiful colors, the brisk winds blow, and every day is different.  No contest.
  3. What word describes you best?  “Delicate and transparent”.  A direct quote from Harvey Steiman in the Wine Spectator as one of Oregon’s Top 20 Producers.  I have never lived it down.
  4. What is your favorite food?  My wife’s meatloaf, bacon fat fried potatoes, and apple crisp.  Vickianne is from MO and knows how to cook from the earth.  I get up in the middle of the night and eat crisp.  Ohhhh so good.
  5. Where do you like to vacation?  The beach on Maui.  Long walks with Vickianne.  Snorkeling for hours in the ocean.  Mai Tais at Aloha Mixed Plate and take out fish from Okazuya & Deli Honokowai.  The best way to relax.
