Immortalize Your Best Friend and Make Your Dog the Talk of the Town!

Oregon’s been a world class wine region for nearly 50 years.  Now, we’re also known as a Mecca for boutique breweries—and in our opinion, none any finer than what Rick Allen has created at Heater Allen in McMinnville.

When Rick started the idea for the brewery he was living at the beach.  When trying to come up with a name for his holiday beer, he pictured his dog coming back from the beach with her paws covered in sand.  Thus the name Sandy Paws was born.  Each year Heater Allen showcases a local dog on the label of their holiday beer, and in 2017, that dog could be your furry best friend!

The lucky winner of this package can show their “best friend” just how special they are by displaying a professionally photographed picture of them on the Heater Allen Holiday Sandy Paws beer—a Baltic Porter, rich and malty with slightly spicy notes that’s perfect for aging and gets better year after year.  Your furry pal will be immortalized on the beer label and beer taps all over town.

Not only will you have bragging rights, you’ll also receive two cases of the 2017 Heater Allen Sandy Paws as part of this package to share with your friends and family.

Finally, Rick Allen will personally host your party of eight during a tour and tasting at the Heater Allen Brewery in McMinnville.  Afterwards, walk around the corner to McMinnville’s Historic Granary District for a beer focused dinner hosted in the Brittan and Winderlea winery tasting room.  Don’t forget to bring that famous dog of yours to enjoy the experience too!

Package Includes:

  • A photo of your dog as the 2017 Heater Allen Sandy Paws Holiday beer label
  • Two cases of the 2017 Heater Allen Sandy Paws Beer featuring your dog’s photo
  • Professional portrait session of your dog for the label by renowned photographer Carolyn Wells-Kramer
  • Tour and Tasting for eight people at the Heater Allen Brewery in McMinnville
  • Beer inspired dinner for eight people at the Brittan Vineyards and Winderlea Vineyard & Winery tasting room in McMinnville

Package Notes:  Photography session to take place at Carolyn Wells-Kramer’s studio in McMinnville or in a vineyard location in the greater Dundee Hills or McMinnville AVAs.  Package components to be scheduled on mutually agreed upon dates.

1975-eyrie

1975 The Eyrie South Block Reserve

Take home the bottle that put Oregon winemaking on the map!  In 1975, The Eyrie Vineyards produced the first American Pinot Noir to compete successfully with the renowned Pinot Noirs of Burgundy, placing within the top ten at the 1979 Wine Olympics in Paris, and placing second the following year in a rematch organized by Robert Drouhin in Beaune.  With these two tastings, Oregon won its first recognition as the New World home for Pinot Noir and brought international attention to this wine region unfamiliar to almost everyone except a handful of hardy pioneers.   It’s estimated that only ten of these bottles still exist, and one can be yours.

  • One bottle of 1975 The Eyrie Vineyards South Block Reserve Pinot Noir signed by David Lett

McMinnville Getaway for Four

Known as the “Heart of Oregon Wine Country,” McMinnville is world famous for both its viticulture and artisan dining experiences, and two couples will enjoy a perfect taste of it all.  First, join winemaker Rob Stuart at R. Stuart & Co. Winery where he will take you through a private barrel tasting that is a virtual tour of the Willamette Valley with Pinot Noirs from renowned vineyards of every notable AVA.  Afterwards, dine with Rob and Maria Stuart at the legendary, and James Beard Award winning, Nick’s Italian Café in the heart of downtown McMinnville.  Retire for the evening perched above the town’s charming restaurants, winery tasting rooms, and boutique shops in a fully appointed apartment at the 3rd Street Flats where modern luxury meets local history.  Wake up to a scrumptious brunch at local hangout, Community Plate, and do a little shopping at the chic Mes Amies before you head out for a walking tour and tasting in The Eyrie Vineyards’ original vines—the first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines in the Willamette Valley, and the first Pinot Gris planted in the New World—guided by a member of the Eyrie team.

Package Includes:

  • Barrel tasting for four people with winemaker Rob Stuart at R. Stuart & Co. winery
  • Dinner for four people with Rob & Maria Stuart at Nick’s Italian Café
  • Overnight accommodations for two couples at the 3rd Street Flats
