Vineyard:
Ridgecrest Vineyard is one of Chehalem’s oldest vineyard holdings, first planted in 1982 and with its first vintage in 1985. Located in a cooler microclimate, these own-rooted vines at Ridgecrest tend to be about a week later – from bud break through harvest – than those at our other estate vineyards.
Wine Notes:
Our 2022 ¡Salud! Pinot Noir Cuvée is an homage to our own-rooted Pinot Noir vines that were planted on Ridgecrest in 1991, celebrating their second-to-last harvest as we prepare to replant the section in 2023. We chose to highlight the amazing wine we have been so lucky to work with over these past 30 years by making this small, very special cuvée for ¡Salud!.
Aging:
Blended in August of 2023 and put into neutral oak for an additional five months
