Vineyard:
Stoller Family Estate Vineyard sits on the southern tip of the Dundee Hills. Planted in 1995, Jory volcanic soil comprises the majority of the 225 planted acres, delivering wines with beautiful red fruit, earthy undertones, moderate tannin and ample acidity.
Wine Notes:
For this Pinot Noir we have married two very distinct sections of our vineyard in a beautiful partnership. The Dijon Clone 777 was selected from our older plantings with roots deep in Jory volcanic soil. Red fruit and earth with a hint of spice from 50% whole cluster fermentation, this section has long been prized by the Stoller winemaking team. Its partner in crime, Heritage Clone 117, is one of our youngest sections of Pinot Noir. Located on the west side of our Estate, these vines are planted to Willakenzie sedimentary soil that leads to a darker fruit nature in the wine. Huckleberry, black raspberry and hints of blueberry give way to an incredibly juicy texture throughout the palate. Together these two sections create a wine that is truly singular.
Aging:
This wine was aged in 30% new French oak barrels and 70% neutral oak barrels for nine before blending, where it then married together in tank for an additional six months. The wine will age in bottle for another year prior to release.
