Vintage Notes:

2013: “The year of the storm” where harvest was split before and after the storm. A true Oregon vintage with challenging weather created wines that are fresh and vibrant. The resulting wines are food friendly with nice acidity, pleasant roundness, and longevity. The lighter colors and flavors of the 2013 vintage wines, reflect the cooler temperate climate that put Oregon on the map.

2014 and 2015: Both years were marked by an unusually warm growing season with an early harvest. Ideal warm dry conditions in ideal conditions during bloom led to the larger crop yields as we had good set! (August and September resulted in large crop yields. Overall considered great years yielding ripe, super clean well-balanced fruit with intensity and dark color. The cooler weather after a very warm summer allowed us to get mature flavors but still retained some of the fresh acidity that Oregon is known for.

2018:  Another warm vintage in a string of warm vintages.  The vintage started off cool but quickly warmed up. 2018 was warm but did not experience the same heat spikes that we saw in the previous warm vintages. We had 20 days of over 90 degrees but none over 100! A rain event in early September helped the vines push to the finish line allowing us to harvest the fruit as it reached full maturity without high sugars.

10 months in French oak with a balance between new oak, one-year, two-year, and neutral oak.
