Vintage Notes:
2019 was a vintage reflecting the best qualities of cool climate grape growing. A long growing season punctuated with sporadic rain storms that created a classic matrix of ripe red fruits, and well appointed acid and texture. Tasting the fruit in the vineyard the flavors were reminiscent of vintages like 2008 and 2010. Dusting off the mental notebook I was reminded to hold off until the last possible moments to pick and to be gentle with the fruit so as to not over extract. With this in mind the wines have a spectrum of flavors that range from cool cranberry/ raspberry, baking spice and floral accents that make these wines unlike any of the past five vintages. – Grant Coulter, winemaker
